| Spring 2011 Dear Valued Samantha Fund Supporters, The charitable works of the Samantha Fund has grown substantially since it began in 2003. For my family and me it has been a privilege to be a caretaker of Samantha’s Fund and the families we help. These families have become a part of the Samantha Fund Family. As I’m introduced to these special families, I feel much sadness, pain and heartache for what their journey entails. As I deal with their suffering, I have my own sorrow dealing with the passing of my Samantha. This constant flow of sadness has affected my daily life and has become emotionally overwhelming for myself and my family. After great thought and reflection, it is time for me to take a hiatus from Samantha’s Fund. This includes formal fundraising, the distribution of those funds and the fall fundraiser. This pause will give me time to refocus and evaluate with careful consideration our fundraising efforts for the future. My fear is you may forget how important your affiliation is to the Samantha Fund and in turn the charity that is given back to our local communities. I am so grateful for the support you have shown to the Samantha Fund and only hope you will again give us that support when we resume our journey.
